How does the formation of the planets connect to the big bang theory?
The Big Bang theory basically states that our universe started of as a very hot point in space. Then, it started to cool down to the point were matter was able to form. Protons, Neutrons, and Electrons started to form more complex elements. From there it expanded even more to create our solar system. The accretion of the gaseous, outer planets connects to the Big Bang Theory. The Protons, Neutrons, and Electrons formed into Atoms, the Atoms formed into Ice and Rocks, the Ice and Rocks formed the Core of the planets, the core attracted gas, and the Planets were formed. In order for the Big Bang theory to evolve the solar system these planets had to be created.
